Par2: DOS files in XP 2002-04-11 -- David Beggs Unsure if this works in XP but it does in everything up to 2k ... if you put perVMFiles=xx in the[386enh] section of the win.ini file, you get that many files "per session". ie you can run your program in many instances. The config file over-rides it though. If there is a config.nt where files=40 you are in trouble. hth > Under Win 98 or NT, I had the user set config.sys or config.nt to a large > 'FILES=' number to bypass the 'too many files open' error message. > > What needs to be done in Win XP for the DOS 2.1 program? > > Besides this, is there any other changes for a DOS program relating to Win > XP?
