Par2: Multiple locator fields (II) 1998-10-21 -- Charles Bolland (Also see related article by Dennis Evans)
I had trouble with the below code until I set my Extension to Step rather than an
Entry field for the locator. I have included my reference that I will use for future
multi locator fields. I have even been able to add as many as three locator fields
with Dennis Evan's routine.
Create Two Local Varibles in the DATA
Loc:FirstField
Loc:SecondField
First create a Routine and Place it into the Procedure Routine Embeds.
FINDIT ROUTINE
IF LOC:FirstField
DAT:FirstField = LOC:FirstField
IF LOC:SecondField
DAT:SecondField = LOC:SecondField
Brw1.ResetFromBuffer() !BRW1 is the name of
the Browse. ResetfromBuffer
END !is a
build in Procedure.
END!IF
EXIT
Control Event Handling first field
IF LOC:FirstField
IF LOC:SecondField
do findit
select(?loc:SecondField)
end
End
Control Event Handling Second Field
IF LOC:SecondField
IF LOC:FirstField
DO fINDIT
ELSE
SELECT(?LOC:FirstField)
end
END
Note: Set extension locator to Step.
