Par2: Angled Strings
2000-03-23 -- Tom Ruby

Angled strings are hard for a couple reasons. Get these fixed and they work: 1. They only work for a truetype font. MS Sans Serif which most of us use is not a TT font. Arial is. 2. The alignment doesn't work and all are always aligned 'centered.' So here's what I did to get a group of strings aligned by their bottoms and standing up labeling the top of thin columns: 1. Use a true type font for the window. 2. CREATE the string. 3. Set its text. 4. Swap its Height and Width S# = NewString{PROP:Height} NewString{PROP:Height} = NewString{PROP:Width} NewString{PROP:Width} = S# 5. Set its angle to 900 (90 * 10) 6. Set its PROP:YPos to BottomEdge - NewString{PROP:Height} 7. Set the PROP:XPos to whatever 8. Set PROP:Hide to FALSE
