Newsgroups: softvelocity.clarion.databasedrivers > I have an aplication that needs to update a interbase database, > i set up the process, it works but the database use a "Generator" that > stores some data to number the records on the database > > using php the instruction is > gen_id(Doc_ID,1) > how can i implement this? > > My config is C55, Interbase Open 6.0.2.0 gen_id(Doc_ID,1) returns the next unique identifier for the file. If you call this function you will know what value needs to go into the primary key field before you add the record. You will need a prop:SQL which has a LONG (or string, I suppose) as the datatype in the first field. eg. DummyLong{Prop:SQL} = 'CALL gen_id(Doc_ID,1)' NEXT(DummyLong) MyFile:PrimaryKeyField = DumL:DummyLong ! Prime other field values ADD(MyFile)
