The following code should do it.  The same code will encrypt and decrypt the string 
provided the key value  is the same both times.

   KeyValue = 1000                 ! This will vary
   Field = 'Example Text to Encrypt'
   LOOP Count = 1 TO LEN(Field)
       X = BXOR(Val(Field[Count]), KeyValue)
       Field[Count] = CHR(X)
   END
